Prop Busters R/C Club

Introduction:

The Prop Busters R/C Club is a area radio controlled (R/C) aircraft enthusiasts club that has been in existence for over twenty five years. We are a chartered club with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA Charter 1321) The purpose of the club is to bring together at specific times those persons who are interested in radio controlled model aircraft and to improve their knowledge and develop their skills and for fellowship. We fly at Nelson Field. The Field is located 3/4 of a mile North of State Route 15 near Browns IL. Browns is located about 12 miles west of Mt Carmel IL. Turn north on county road 900e at the FS plant you will see the field when you reach county road 1000N. Right turn on 1000N then left turn into the parking area. This is a private air field that is 4000 feet long and a 100 ft wide. The elevation is 418 ft. The Unicom frequency is 122.8 MHz We fly off of the south end almost every weekend Spring,Summer & Fall.

Our Club meets on the first Thursday of the month. Anyone interested in R/C flying is welcome. The meeting will be at the field during the summer and there will be a cookout before. Some members will come early and fly. Check the web page for place and time of meeting during the winter months and bad weather.

We are involved in a lot of area events as you can see from the web page events calendar. On different occasions we will also host events at our field . Radio controlled aircraft pilots from about 150 mile radius will be at the field to show off their aircrafts and what they can do. It will be a great show and the public is invited to come and watch. If you would like to learn to fly contact one of the club officers.

Thanks
